Grovelands Primary School, has established a dress code for all students attending the school. The dress code is established to promote a safe and healthy learning environment for the students.
Ensures students are safely dressed for specific school activities
Encourages equity among students
Enhances the public image of the school and fosters community pride
Assists in building school and team spirit
At Grovelands Primary School, we believe every student should have access to a school uniform, as it fosters a sense of belonging and pride in our school community. To support this, we have introduced the Yirra Yaakin uniform swap system (Yirra Yaakin meaning "stand tall" in Noongar). We understand that life can get busy and that there may be times when students are unable to wear their full uniform. Through the Yirra Yaakin service, students who arrive in non-uniform items can borrow the necessary uniform pieces for the day. This ensures they can still participate fully in school activities and maintain their Good Standing, promoting inclusion, dignity, and reducing stress for families.
News and second-hand articles of clothing are available from the Uniform Shop.
Items in the school colours may be purchased from any clothing or department store.
The School Board, in conjunction with the staff of Grovelands Primary School, reviews the dress code on a biannual basis and parents may have input into the dress code by contacting any of the members of the School Board or P&C.
